After School Club

Northburn After School Club runs each night from 3:10-5:30.
It aims to become an essential part of the Northburn community, providing that extra bit of support for families as well as some FUN.
We provide a balance of child-initiated and adult led activities. This makes our club a place that will meet the various needs and interests of your children.   This provision will provide children with a relaxed and happy environment. We will also support children with homework and reading where required.
Sessions can be booked via our 'School-Money' online payments system, using the same log-on you use for school meals and trips.

The staff involved in running the after school provision are:
Mrs Orrock, Mrs McCabe and Mrs Beatie. A short bio of each member of staff is shown below.

Professional - My name is Mrs Lynne Orrock and I have been at Northburn School since 1996.  After having my children, I changed profession and trained as a Nursery nurse.  I extended my knowledge with a foundation degree in Early Years, topped up to a full degree with Honours in Families and Schools.  Although based in the Early Years, I am a cover supervisor and have worked throughout school.  I have additional training as a Social and Emotional Specialist.

Personal - Married for 34 years, we have lived in three different houses in Northburn - we love it here!  My children attended this school too but are aged 29 and 32 now and I am a grandma to 3 year old Scarlett.  I love my dog called Digby, photography and all types of crafting.

I'm Kate McCabe and I've worked at Northburn Primary since 2014.  Currently, I'm predominantly working as a cover supervisor in Key Stage 1, but have worked throughout school.  I have an honours degree in Children and Young People and enjoy putting my theoretical knowledge into practice.  I live with my husband and three children and out of school, I'm a bit of a 'foodie'; enjoying cooking and eating out.

My name is Laura Beattie.  I have a diploma in Early Years and have a Level 3 teaching assistant qualification.  I work within school as a Lunchtime Assistant and volunteer in the Reception classes.  I have been married for almost 10 years and have 3 children aged 9, 7 and 5 that keep me very busy.  I was in the first year of Northburn when the school opened.
