Welcome to Northburn Primary School

Welcome and thank you for visiting our Northburn Primary School website. I hope that the information and content on this site will give you an overview into the life and work of our school.

I am delighted to welcome you to Northburn Primary School.  Northburn is a fantastic thriving learning community. Our children are exceptional. Their behaviour and enthusiastic attitude to learning is regularly commented upon by visitors. Staff are committed to providing engaging and challenging lessons to enable all children to achieve. Positive working relationships are at the heart of everything we do. I know also that a successful and happy school depends upon a good partnership between home and school and look forward to developing ways in which we can work together to benefit your children.

As we move forward, I intend to build on our successes and further develop Northburn as a unique and innovative community hub. We have plans to enrich our curriculum by further exploiting the school grounds as a learning resource. A recent development has been our outdoor classroom which will form a focal point for our forest school lessons to motivate enquiring minds.

My aim is to ensure we create an environment where exceptional teaching equips our children with the knowledge and skills to compete academically with the best and a culture where individual talents and aspirations are nurtured. At Northburn, we believe all children can achieve and grow as informed, confident, resilient learners equipped to live fulfilled and successful lives.

At Northburn, we promote a school culture where we can all learn and achieve. We are ambitious, inquisitive, resilient and respectful.

To those who may be a prospective parent, I understand that choosing a new school can be an exciting but also anxious time, for you and for your child. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.  We actively encourage visits to our school so that you can experience our ethos at first hand.
